In January of 2017, Wyclef announced that his J’ouvert EP would be released on February 3, 2017. On February 2, 2017, Wyclef released his new single “Ne Me Quitte Pas”,which was featured on his J’ouvert Deluxe EP. The EP was released and charted at 117 on the Billboard 200, Four more singles were released from the album, “Life Matters”, “The Ring,” “Holding onto the Edge” and “Little Things”. On June 9, Wyclef announced on his Instagram that Carnival III: The Fall and Rise of a Refugee would become available to pre-order on June 22, 2017.
The rapper released a single titled “Fela Kuti” in honour of the legendry pioneer of the Afrobeat music genre, human rights activist, and political maverick,Fela Anikulapo Kuti.
