The track – blending future house, afro house, afro tech elements with electric guitar recorded in the deserts of Chad – will be released alongside a music video, shot in collaboration with African Parks Network, Canadian Art Council and The Natural and Cultural Reserve of Ennedi in Chad..

About the music video: Far in the futuristic desert of northern Chad, a man searches for his ancestral roots. His journey takes him to one of the oldest cave painting sites, where he uncovers the secrets of 9,000 years ago, learning how ancient humans once used the dom as a sacred tool. Oda Ye is a quest through the lands of Toumaï country, to rediscover the strength and beauty of Chad and Africa, inviting us to come together and embrace our shared heritage. Oda Ye means look up.

Afrotronix describes his sound as Saharan Electro, blending electro, Afro Tech nuances, electric blues, Afro Pop, Amapiano, Konpa, Nganja, Dubstep and bringing Afro-futurism in urban fashion, dance and digital art. It is the Sound of a Future based on ancestral values. Originating from Chad and now based in Canada, this fearless artist redefines the narrative of Chad and Africa, using his melodies to invite us all to envision the future.

His music received support from the BBC, RFI, Le Monde, France 24, TV5 Monde, Jeune Afrique

His talent has earned him 18 global awards, including Best African DJ at the 2018 All Africa Music Awards, Best African Electro Artist in 2019 and Best Artist at the Hollywood and African Prestigious Awards in 2022.

Afrotronix – real name Caleb Rimtobaye – is a talented guitarist and producer who collaborated with legendary artists such as Baaba Maal, Youssou N’dour, Stonebwoy, Mbongwana Stars, Lorenzo Jovanotti and Brian Kennedy (who previously produced for Rihanna, Chris Brown).

With 133 performances, he has showcased his pan-African and radiant afrofuturist philosophy at international festivals including ROCK al Parque in Colombia, JOVA Beach Party in Italy, Amsterdam Roots Festival in the Netherlands, REC BEAT in Brazil, WOMAD Festival in Chile, and Afropunk in Paris.

Afrotronix was one of the first Chadians to gain international fame, and he has become an emblem of the country’s lively and tenacious culture. Proudly wearing the DOM—a helmet symbolising a recreated ancient wisdom—Afrotronix’s sounds are a salute to the voices of the greatest avant-garde African musicians, driven by a desire for creativity.

This collaboration with the Ennedi Nature and Cultural Reserve and African Parks Network aims to show another side of Chad, that of a country rich in history that goes back to the roots of humanity, a country full of natural sites, each more fascinating than the last. This part of the world is still little known and, for those who are passionate about it, could lead to a lifetime of discovery.

The launch will take place on June 12, 2025, via RS Afrotronix platforms. At 5:00 PM GMT, a live performance featuring several tracks performed on the summit of Fada’s Dromedary Mountain will be presented exclusively.
