Patoranking said that he delayed the release of his debut album ‘GOE’ because he was unsure of himself and his level of penetration in Nigeria. The album has gone on to be make the #1 on the Reggae album chart.
On his delay, Patoranking in a vulnerable moment admitted that his uncertainty about his level of penetration was the cause for his album delay. The singer admitted to having an album ready after the success of ‘Girlie Oh’ single in 2015, but held back due to personal doubts.
In his words: “we could have dropped an album after ‘Girlie Oh’, but I just felt that I needed the acquaintance, that I wasn’t acquainted to the people. I felt that I wasn’t felt all over the country. Down South, down North, they didn’t know me. I needed to get closer to the people, and that was why I had to delay the album for a while, and we kept up dropping singles.”
