Keeping up with the Kardashians star Kim Kardashian and rapper Kanye West are expecting baby number three via a surrogate. US media reported on Wednesday that Kardashian, 36, and West, 40 are finally getting their much-desired third child through a surrogate and it’s a baby girl.
This means that the couple’s four-year-old daughter North West and one-year-old son Saint are soon going to be playing with a new baby sister. “The entire family is over the moon. Kim had been looking for a surrogate for months until recently when she found the perfect candidate,” anonymous source was quoted as telling People magazine.
Celebrity gossip site TMZ said the baby girl is due in late January 2018.
Kim and Kanye turned to surrogacy for their third baby after she struggled with her first two pregnancies. Bringing North and her brother Saint into the world was plagued with dangerous complications and ended up being incredibly taxing on Kim’s body. “My doctor had to stick his entire arm in me and detach the placenta with his hand, scraping it away from my uterus with his fingernails. How disgusting and painful,” Kim said on her blog, recalling North’s birth. “My mom was crying; she had never seen anything like this before. My delivery was fairly easy, but then going through that — it was the most painful experience of my life!” As a result of her health scares in the past, Kim felt the need to hire a surrogacy agency that helped serve as the liaison in finding a healthy woman who would carry their child. According to a source close to Kim, the couple had always planned on hiring a surrogate for their third baby following the complications with the other pregnancies.
