Artists Left Disappointed After Receiving PRISK Pay

Kenyan artists were recently on social media to air their disappointment after receiving their 2021 first-quarter pay from Performers Rights Society of Kenya.

The society disbanded Ksh 1,215 to artists, something that didn’t impress a mjaority.

Gabu, Rapper Wangeci, Singer Nikita Kering, KRG The Don among others took to social media to call out prisk for meager pay saying they deserve to be paid more.

It’s not the first time artists have complained about their pay.

Prisk, mandated to clear rights on behalf of performers who include actors, musicians and studio producers, has been a troubled organization since its formation.
