Jaleesa Gaoses, better known by her professional name Taylor Jaye, is an award winning Namibian-born
South Africa based singer, songwriter and actress.
With the release of her first single African Kings featuring Chin Chilla in 2015, she simultaneously launched her music career both in Namibia and South Africa under her own label Jaye’s World Entertainment (Pty) Ltd.
Launched to stellar media reception the music video of African Kings rose quickly to win the March 2016
Best World Beat Music Video award in the USA at the Akademia awards.
She then went on to launch her debut EP called 780 which is a tribute to her late grandmother Agnes Suko
!Gaoses. The EP features her hit single Supa Chikita, which is in high demand on many Namibian, South
African and Cross continental radio stations and has made the Top 10 Song list on Reverbnation. She also
recently won the Best Honorary Single Award for the Unsigned Reverbnation Competition 2016.
She is also an actress and tv personality having recently been casted for season 4 as one of the lead
characters on United Kingdom based Pan African series “Closets”. She is also set to appear in a movie
later on this year featuring other prominent musicians such as Stonebwoy and Nollywood screen legend
Desmond Elliot. She also appeared in a pilot series “Things we do for love “ and shot a commercial for tvc1.
With the launch of the video for her second single Supa Chikita, she went ahead to appear premier on
multiple music shows across Africa in early 2017. Her music video for Supa Chikita was released on the
31st November 2016 at a celebrity packed media launch with a stellar response. She has now recently been
nominated for music video of the year at the annual Namibian Music Video awards. She is now planning to
follow it up with the release of her third music video for her latest single Ma /Hao ft Big Star the winner of
vuzu Hustle season 1.
Previously signed to Southwest Records, Taylor Jaye left to start her own music label. This strategic
decision provided her with the creative freedom to pursue her own unique style of music while also
providing a platform for unexposed artists to record their compositions.
Influenced by various genres including R&B, Pop, Hip-Hop, Reggae, Classical and Jazz.
She started off the year of 2017 with another club banger single with her group known as the “Suko Kool
Kids” comprising of individual artist off her label. She now aims to follow up her debut EP with a jam
packed versatile album in 2017 featuring collaborations with artist such as Big Star , Uhuru and many more.
