Diamond, who has now lost two of his best artists in a span of two years, denied that he exploits artists with his contract deals.

The singer said that he has invested tons of cash in his artists and the business, therefore, needs to recoup his cash before they leave the label, a reason why they have been hit with insane demands before they can leave WCB.

“We are in music business but at first there were rumours that artists are being exploited. It even reached the President but we explained ourselves saying this is business and they understood it from our point of view,” Diamond explained in an interview.

“So you can’t just leave when we have invested millions in your craft. I invest in these people, make ensure they have a name for themselves, plus shows so that we can also make money at the end of the day.”

Diamond further said that he invested on the artists because he chose to, not that he had nowhere else to put the money.

“If I wanted I could have invested that money in something else, but I choose to invest in entertainment. WCB artistes are some of the richest artistes right now because of the investment we put in them,” he said.

The allegations come just days after Rayvanny finally managed to opt out of his 10-year contract after paying Ksh 100 million.

Harmonize also left the label after a long tussle with Diamond and with the help of former President John Magufuli. He was released after finally raising Ksh 30 million and paid off Diamond.
