A critic making use of the handle @theneedledrop took a swipe at Wale’s latest album Shine calling it an ‘ugly attempt at capitalizing on the Caribbean craze’. Wale was having none of that and replied: ‘Wow man .. ugly attempt at Caribbean ? Man that’s Afro beat that’s my naija culture . I was born into this sound . This is OUR sound’.
