Willow and Jaden Smith grace the September issue of Interview. In their first cover together, the brother and sister duo poses side by side in the stunning photographs by Steven Klein. They show off their fashionable flare in designer threads from Burberry, Rick Owens, Alexander Wang, and Chanel Haute Couture.
In one standout image, the eccentric pair dons a matching dress and coat combination from Salvatore Ferragamo. In another, they are zipped together inside of an oversized Juun.J bomber jacket. Posing in Rick Owens shorts and tops, the siblings are also photographed in front of smoke, further showcasing their modeling and fashion sense.
Pharrell Williams threw on his journalist cap, interviewing the Smiths about everything from philosophy to fashion.
Fifteen-year-old Willow credits her famous parents for being so accepting. “We would wear the craziest things,” she says. “Jaden would only wear his Spider-Man costume. I would freaking mismatch every single shirt and pants in my closet…And when we were old enough to start dressing ourselves, my mom was like, ‘Are you sure you want to go out like that?’ And me and Jaden would be like, ‘You know what? Yes.’ And she’d totally accept it.
“I feel like that’s where most of our confidence comes from,” she adds. “Because we weren’t told, ‘Oh, you don’t look good in that. You look crazy. People are gonna think this about you.’ Like, obviously, that was going to be happening regardless, but it wasn’t like that ruled what we did or the choices that we made.”
