Cheque is a fast rising star of the Nigerian music industry. He first came into the limelight in 2019 when he got signed by Phyno to his record label Penthauze Records.
Little known fact is that before their big breaks in music, Cheque and Fireboy Dml were quite close friends and at that time, his stage name was Kyle-B.
Cheque was born Akanbi Bamidele Brett in 1995. The singer has mentioned that he never really thought he could make music a career because he comes from an orthodox educational background. However, he started music back in his days at Obafemi Awolowo University.
He got noticed by Phyno after one of his freestyle videos on Instagram popped off and he subsequently got signed to Penthauze Records. Under the record label, he has released hit songs like Jekasoro and Abundance.
In 2020, he went on to release his Razor ep which had Zoom and Loco on it that became hits and really endeared him to the Nigerian audience.
