It’s safe to say OVO Season is over on the Billboard charts.
After DJ Khaled’s Major Key topped the Billboard 200 last week, the Suicide Squad soundtrack echoed the commercial success of the film by finishing at no. 1 on this week’s chart. Featuring the superstar power of names such as Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Wiz Khalifa, and Kevin Gates, the album more than doubled the sales of runner-up Drake’s Views with nearly 200,000 total equivalent album units and 128,000 pure album sales.
Drake’s former no. 1 single “One Dance” continued its fall in the Hot 100 by dropping three spots to no. 5. However, the finish allowed the rapper to further add to his record for most consecutive weeks in the Top 10 of the chart for a solo male artist. He tied Ace of Base for second place among all acts with 48-straight weeks, but is a long way from Katy Perry’s record of 69 weeks.
