The African themed ‘Carter Push Party’ which held on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at a private property in Beverly Hills with plastic elephants and African fabrics on display has brought mixed feelings and reactions on social media.
It has however raised some questions, as some people feel it is cultural appropriation. South African rapper AKA, has also expressed his displeasure over Beyonce’s African-themed push party in a tweet. Guests in attendance included Kelly Rowland, Serena Williams, Lala Anthony and Michele Williams.
In a tweet, he writes.
For all this Africa themed baby stuff, Beyoncé seems pretty reluctant to come here. Stinks of cultural appropriation.
