With two critically acclaimed EPs under his belt in under two years – the PsychoYP collaboration YP & Azanti Vol. 1 and his self-titled Azanti EP, 18-year-old Nigerian wonderkid artist and producer AZANTI has quickly staked his claim as one of the best young artists coming out of the African music scene, ever since his debut in 2020. Revered for his transcendent voice, songwriting dexterities, infectious flow and penchant for lush melodies, his music can best be described as the perfect fusion of R&B, afrobeats, hip-hop and dancehall, all held together by his exquisite musicianship.

After making a few guest appearances earlier this year with the likes of Grammy Award nominated
producer Mut4y (Legendury Beatz), and JUNO Award nominated singer Zenesoul, the Toronto-based rising star is back with his brand new solo single titled ‘GETTIN’ HOT’ via Def Jam Recordings, as he starts to tease out his highly anticipated debut album, which arrives later this year. The funky afrobeats offering is a glorious summer-ready dancefloor filler with amapiano leanings, driven by Azanti’s catchy flow, wordplay and delivery, and production from burgeoning beatsmith Ramoni.

For the accompanying music video for ‘Gettin’ Hot’, Azanti has flown out to Accra in Ghana with
director and frequent collaborator Cindy Ihua to create a colourful and beautifully-shot visual affair that reveals some of Azanti’s bubbly personality and charming presence, while paying homage to an iconic era of ‘90s TV cinematography. Bringing the song’s summer vibe further to life, the ‘Gettin’ Hot’ video casts Azanti as the loveable party boy who gets the house all to himself, with his parents out of town, and he does as we would expect – throw the biggest summer house party going.

Coming out of the forward-thinking Nigerian collective Apex Village, which he joined when he was only 16, Azanti is an exciting multifaceted singer, songwriter, producer, and musician, having taught
himself how to play the guitar, bass, drums, and keys, and now at just 18-years old, he has already
been co-signed by some of African music’s biggest names including Mr. Eazi, Sarz, and Joeboy, as well as tastemakers such as Apple Music 1, No Signal, and Reprezent Radio, among others. His new offering ‘Gettin’ Hot’ is the precursor to his soon-to-be-announced anticipated debut album.
