Mugeez, Sarkodie reacts to Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy gun-pulling incident as Court granted them GHc 50,000 bail

Mugeez, one member of the Tema-based music duo, R2bees has waded into the Shatta Wale-Stonebwoy VGMA fracas and according to the Ghanaian Afrobeat and Highlife artiste, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy’s beef could have been dealt with long ago; but we waited till guns were pulled out before finally making moves. Dancehall artistes Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy got entangled in a gun showing incidence at the just-ended VGMA’s after the former mounted stage while Stonebwoy was about to give his acceptance speech upon winning Reggae/Dancehall artiste of the year. Both artistes were detained by the Ghana Police and released on bail the day after whiles investigations continue. Mugeez who hardly speaks on matters concerning musical beefs added that the two artistes should love the culture and keep guns out of the game.

Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale have pleaded not guilty to charges they are facing over their involvement in the disturbances that marred the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.

Shatta Wale is facing a charge of offensive conduct conducive to breach of peace while Stonebwoy has been charged with offensive conduct conducive to breach of peace and display of a firearm in public without permission.

The two were put before a court in Accra today, Wednesday. The court presided over by Magistrate Isaac Addo granted the two bail at a cost of GHc 50,000 with one surety each.

The case has been adjourned to June 20, 2019.

The two were cautioned to be of good behaviour while the case is ongoing.
