Aslay speaks on relationship with Tessy Chocolate ahead of his EP ‘Kipenda Roho’

Bongo star Aslay is finally dropping his long-anticipated EP titled Kipenda Roho. This will be his first EP and his fans will definitely be thrilled to listen to it. The EP will go live on 14/11/2019 exclusively on the Boomplay music app.

Born Aslay Isihaka Nassoro in 1995, Bongo sensation Dogo Aslay has made a name for himself among the greats in the East African music world.

The young lad has been making moves since 2011 when he burst into the limelight courtesy of his hit song Naenda Kusema. He immediately became a household name not just in Tanzania but also in Kenya where the song received massive airplay.

He would later on in 2013 join hands with Mbosso now signed at Wasafi, Beka Flavour and Enock Bella and together they formed the Yamoto Band, a musical band that ruled over East Africa for 4 years before they each decided to go their separate ways in 2017. Yamoto Band gave us hits like Cheza Kwa Madoido, Mama, Nisambazie Raha etc.

With Yamoto Band now late, many people were interested to see how the different members who decided to pursue solo careers would fair on. Many particularly had an interest in Dogo Aslay who was said to the engine of Yamoto Band.

Aslay started releasing hit after hit with his first single after leaving Yamoto Band, Angekuona hitting over 8 Million Views.

He later on collaborated with Tanzanian songstress Khadija Kopa for a marriage themed song titled Usiitie Doa. The song went on to amass over 7 Million views on YouTube alone and was on heavy rotation across media houses in both Kenya and Tanzania.

In his first year after leaving Yamoto Band, Aslay released over 7 songs with each garnering over 4.5 Million Views on Youtube. That is the year that defined him as a solo artist and made people know just how good he is.

His second year as a solo artist was no different as he gave his fans more hits to dance and sing to. He gave them hits like Natamba, arguably his biggest hit to date, Totoa, Sabalkheri featuring Nandy, Hauna among others.

Aslay has had the privilege of doing great collaborations. Apart from Nandy and Khadija Kopa, he has also collaborated with Ali Kiba, Rich Mavoko, G Nako and Kenya’s Bahati.

Aslay is a father of one having sired a child with Tanzanian beauty Tessy Chocolate. The two were blessed with a lovely daughter, Mozza Aslay who he named after his late mum. Aslay and Tessy are no longer together as a couple but the Bongo star still supports and cares for his kid.

He has lately kept his love life low key and only posts his daughter across his social media platforms.
