Iyanya Releases First ‘Body of Work’ Under new record label Mavin dubbed, ‘Signature EP’.
Iyanya, who started with Made Men Records as a co-owner with Ubi Franklin, months back signed a contract under Mavin after talks with SMD President Don Jazzy.
“I left Made Men Music and I joined Temple Management. I needed to work with someone who understands the music industry and can help me fulfill the dream of getting my music right. And that’s why I went with Don Jazzy.” Iyanya said when he visited the studio for an interview. “I chose him because I realized the need to work with someone to bring out the real Iyanya, which is the singing Iyanya, and at the same time, commercialize the music.” and that is what we have seen with his new EP.
When asked in another interview, How much is the deal worth and how long is it for?
In his words: “I can’t disclose all that. The only thing I owe the public is to churn out good music.”. Do we now ask, is this a chance to completely reset his career? Well only time will find out. Since his exit from Made Men, Tekno has been on the rise. In fact, some people now draw comparisons between between. Is he deter by that? No, because he told Premium Times in an interview by saying ‘Anybody that compares me with Tekno doesn’t know what he or she is saying. Tekno is a blessing to Made Men Music.’
The ‘Signature’ EP project should bring in money. As we believe Mavin Records promotional team will as they always do with other signed acts, optimize its earnings and push the project to profitability.
