DMW Boss, Davido made an announcement today that he will not be performing at the annual Felabration on Tuesday.
Felabration is an annual music festival conceived in 1998 by Yeni Anikulapo-Kuti in memory and celebration of her father Fela Kuti, a Nigerian musician and human rights activist known for pioneering the Afrobeat genre of music. The one-week-long event which is held annually at the New Afrika Shrine in Ikeja Lagos, attracts visitors from different countries and it has thus been considered as an official tourist destination by the Lagos State Government.
Felabration is held on the week of Fela’s birthday. The event features musical performances from top music acts from Nigeria and guest appearances from internationally acclaimed musicians and personalities. It also consists of street parades, symposia on social and topical issues, debates and photo exhibitions.
Davido took to his Snapchat, writing: ‘To all my fans expecting me at Felabration tomorrow, I’m sorry, I will not be performing anymore.
I promise to make it up. I love you guys! Everyone stay prayed up! I love each and everyone of you”
Following the snap about the cancellation was another which said: “Matthew 5:4,” which reads: “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted”.

Davido also dedicated AFRIMMA plaque that he won at the 2017 Africa Muzik Magazine Awards and Music Festival (AFRIMMA) to his two friends, Tagbo and DJ Olu, who died days apart.
Davido went home with the Artist of the Year award and the Song of the Year Award for his hit song “IF”.
