Coronavirus: Cristiano Ronaldo makes demand, sends message to Rugani, others

Juventus forward, Cristiano Ronaldo has called on everyone to follow the advice of the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the governing bodies on how to control the spread of Coronavirus.

The 35-year-old also wished his teammate, Daniele Rugani a speedy recovery after the defender was tested positive for Coronavirus.

Ronaldo, who is currently in insolation in Portugal, reiterated the thoughts of many and maintained that human life comes first before anything.

Coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, has become a global problem with Europe now at the centre of the outbreak.

Major sporting competition has now been put on hold in a bid to prevent the spread of the dreaded disease.

Ronaldo, in a series of tweets on his official Twitter page on Friday, said: “The world is going through a challenging moment which demands the utmost care and attention from all of us.

“I speak to you today not as a footballer player, but as a son, father, a human being concerned with the latest developments that are affecting the whole world.

“It is essential we all follow the advice of the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the governing bodies on how we handle this current situation.

“Protecting human life must come above any other interests.

“I would like to send my thoughts to everyone who has lost someone close to them, my solidarity to those who are fighting the virus, like my teammate Daniele Rugani, and my continued support to the amazing health professionals putting their own lives at risk to help save others.”
