ODM secretary-general Edwin Sifuna on Monday claimed that Jubilee and ODM party have agreed to back Anthony Aluoch as their preferred candidate to fly the Mathare flag, a thing that irked Bahati.

“We only have one candidate in Mathare and that is Anthony Oluoch, this young man called Bahati is my younger brother and we will talk. I will make sure that we find him another position within the Azimio government,” Sifuna said.

Sifuna added that Bahati being isolated in the race will also have its reward since he’ll be given a plumb job from Azimio.

In a press release, however, Bahati denied that he has been sidelined by the coalition, insisting that he’s still in the race.

“My Losing opponent to Spread Propaganda let me answer them here. First and Foremost You Two Don’t Speak on Behalf of My Party Jubilee,” Bahati said.

The singer, has is just a few months into politics now, assured his fans he’s still running for the seat despite what Sifuna said.

“I would like the Public and the People of Mathare to Know that the polls were done and they All Know that Bahati is leading both on Polls and on Ground,” he said.

“For the Last One Week They have Been telling my Opponent to step Down but anasema bado Mimi ni Kijana Mdogo Nimu Hurumie; and Because I have Stood Firm on my Decision.”
