The stars came out for the 59th Annual Grammy Awards, which aired live from Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday (Feb. 12). Before the big show, golden gramophones were handed out in a pre-telecast, including some big wins for Beyoncé, Drake, and Chance the Rapper.
Drizzy took home the Best Rap Song and Best Rap/Sung Performance trophies for “Hotline Bling.” Meanwhile, Chance the Rapper took home his first Grammy ever for Best Rap Performance for the Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz-assisted “No Problem.”
Drizzy, who is on tour in Europe, sent Chano a series of congratulatory texts. “CONGRATS BOI,” wrote the 6 God. “WELL DESERVED. I AM IN MANCHESTER HAVING A DRINK FOR U BROSKI. MORE MORE MORE.”
Weezy also celebrated himself, Chance, and Drake on Twitter. “5th Grammy!!!!!!! Thk God! My fam my Squad & my bros 2Chainz & Chance!! & every single fan,” he tweeted. “Kongratz 2 Champagne for his wins & achievements!! He deserves the world for his doings!”

On the R&B side, Lalah Hathaway’s Lalah Hathaway Live LP won Best R&B Album while her song “Angel” triumphed in the Best Traditional R&B Performance category. Elsewhere, Maxwell’s “Lake By the Ocean” nabbed the Best R&B Song award and Solange’s “Cranes in the Sky” won for Best R&B Performance.
Adele was also a big winner. Before opening the show, she took home the coveted Best Pop Solo Performance trophy for her work on “Hello.” Elsewhere, Queen Bey’s “Formation” won Best Music Video, Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop the Feeling!” won Best Song Written For Visual Media, and Kirk Franklin’s Losing My Religion won Best Gospel Album.
Going into the event, Queen Bey led all nominees for the 59th Annual Grammy Awards with nine, including major nods in the Album, Record, and Song of the Year categories.
