Young Paris Calls Out Mr Eazi: ‘This Guy isn’t the God of African Music’
Nigerian singer-songwriter, Mr Eazi coud potentially have made himself a new music nemesis in the form of American Afro-beats artiste Young Paris, who called out Mr Eazi for making an uninformed statement about thriving African genre of music Afro-beat during one of his interviews.
The Roc Nation signee said Eazi was ‘wilding’ and mixing up the basic difference between Afrobeat and Afrobeats. Young Paris correct Eazi that Afrobeat was done by Fela Kuti and still remains one of the legendary singer’s legacy.
Young Paris also took a swipe at Mr Eazi in a somewhat lengthy Instagram post:
🚫🚫 that point wasn't even to Mr Eazi that was for the culture but I was jus sayin dis guy isn't the God of African Music 🤷🏾♂️ Alot of these African artists biting my face paint, my style, my slogans and I don't say shit, complaining is for suckers @MrEazi we all contributing to the culture 💯 #KINGPARIS
However, Afrobeats is the popular music done by any African artistes, with sub-genres like Afropop, Afro-house, Afrotrap etc.
The #MillionDollarQuestion that remains now is…What defines African Music and Culture?
