Here is what’s been in Olamide Adedeji (Group Channel Manager / @OlamideAdedeji) headphones all week:

1. Young M.a – Ooouuu: Took me a minute to discover Young M.a but she sounds fresh and she’s able to deliver on this laid back hip hop beat. Definitely a track that’ll go places. Gucci Mane gave her a shout-out, that means good things are coming her way. Ooouuuuuuuuuuu…

2. Maleekberry – Kontrol: The producer-artiste makes a good comeback with this track! Sounds like a summer release. Definitely a banger that will rock the charts and clubs everywhere. I like the video too. Pretty clean. Maleekberry has shown consistency, something hard to find these days. Thumbs up to him!

3.Ty Dolla $ign – Campaign: Dolla $ign gives you that rattling beneath the breath vocal delivery on this one; which is what hip hop is sounding like nowadays. Line repetition makes it even a wasted track, but it sounds good to vibe to. You still wanna bump it because of the heavy baseline. Campaign, campaign, campaign, campaign…

This is what’s banging on Soundcity Radio 98.5 OAP Shola Thompson ( @SholaThompson) and program director head.

Lola Rae – One time

Its got a particular sound to it, that is both chill and at the same time groovy. Something you can vibe to while doing other things….
I feel Lola Rae has finally found the song that gives her that edge. The video also helps highlight her somewhat feisty nature…

Soundcity 98.5 OAP Flo (@FollyFlo1) takes us to East Africa with her pick!

My pick for this week is Sauti Sol – Kuliko Jana ft. Aaron Rimbui
This song literally takes my breath away, it’s so uplifting even though I don’t understand the language the sound is just universal! Sauti Sol is fast becoming one of my favourites!

Ik Tripz (New Media Executive – Soundcity / @IKtripz).

1. Burna Boy – Pree Me
This is off his recently released Redemption EP, I personnaly love this song since its release since July this year. A LeriQ produced track. If You have watched the visual, Burna gives a guided tour into a world of jealously and betrayal over its upbeat rhythm. Singing “Lately I’ve been on my toes, enemies been on a mission/ Fuck ’em I’ma do the most, see them multiplying..”

2. Skylar ft. Eminem – Kill For You
Well not a new song from Shady, but he does lay down a fresh verse on the new single from Skylar Grey, Still banging in my head, i hope you guys like it as well. Hear Eminem, Skylar Grey’s Bonnie and Clyde-Inspired ‘Kill for You’.

Here is Valentine‘s (Music Exec. Soundcity Radio 98.5) pick of the week!
My pick this week has to be Afro Lover by Jilex Anderson… I remember hearing the song for the first time thinking it was a Bryson Tiller or Tory Lanez (yes I still can’t tell the two, lol) until I heard that “Omoge toh fine fine o..” on the bridge; that was when I pulled out my Shazam. Great vocal performance with artiste knowing and staying in his range, great instrumentation with the talking drums and Saxophone adding an Afro feel to his Afro story. Beautiful song!

Kindly let us know if you enjoyed this week’s installment.
