Rapper AKA has never been one to hold his tongue, even about those with whom he often shares a stage. And he’s done it again! This time lashing out at music veterans for using trap music to stay “relevant”.

AKA took to Twitter recently, after giving fans a taste of his new upcoming single, to flex a little and take some shots. And this time, trap music and music veterans were on his hit list.

AKA said that his criticism isn’t so much about trap music as it is about the “crap” music that SA artists and even some veterans have stolen from America to try stay relevant.

The influence of trap music on SA hip-hop is a debate that has been raging for what seems like eternity. And AKA made his thoughts on the debate clear, saying that making trap music “does not make sense” to him.

Fans clamoured to guess who AKA was throwing shade at, with some even suggesting that he may have been referring to his rival Cassper Nyovest who had just released a trap-inspired single a few days earlier.

But the Baddest rapper wasn’t telling, only asking artists to evaluate their identity and wear the shoe if it fits.
