Zinedine Zidane has stepped down as Real Madrid manager

Zinedine Zidane has announced that he is stepping down as Real Madrid coach less seven days after the club won her third consecutive Champions League title.

The 45-year-old Frenchman said that he has “taken the decision not to continue next year.” In the two and half years he was coach, the team won nine trophies, losing just 16 out of the 149 games they played.

“It might seem strange, but it had to be done for the good of everyone, the players, the club, and myself… This team must keep winning, and it needs a change after three years, another voice, another method of working,” the one time footballer said.
